The Arizona Wildcats travel to the Alamodome in San Antonio this week to face the UTSA Roadrunners. The visiting Wildcats are 1-0 after thumping UNLV last week 58-13. Arizona had plenty of offense rushing for 353 yards and adding an additional 434 yards through the air. Arizona had two running backs go over 100 yards in rushing with senior Terris Jones-Grigsby (124 yards) and freshman Nick Wilson (104 yards).
Defensively Arizona was just as strong allowing 371 yards with just 119 of those coming on the ground. Scooby Wright registered eight tackles and a sack, Jonathan McKnight had seven solo tackles, and Jarvis McCall and Jarred Tevis each had five tackles to lead the Wildcats defense.
They will get a much tougher test this week against Larry Coker’s Roadrunners. The offense scored 27 points even though they gained just 263 yards. QB Tucker Carter completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 121 yards but it was the running game led by David Glasco II’s 84 yards and two touchdowns and Jarveon Jones who had 54 yards and a touchdown that did the scoring.
Arizona is the favorite and should take this game, however UTSA is a bit of an unknown and could give the Wildcats all they want. Freshman QB Anu Solomon had a huge game last week and should be able to provide more than enough offense to handle the Roadrunners.
